Securing windows at Stoke Quay

Scaffolding on Stoke Quay building

Client: Qualitas Inspection Service, on behalf of Genesis Housing Association

Location: Stoke Quay, Ipswich

Date: 10/04/2019

This is an ongoing contract to mitigate safety issues found in a building in Stoke Quay, Ipswich.

An inspection revealed faulty windows in a building that stands beside the River Orwell. The risk was that the window panes could fall out of their frames – a dangerous issue if left unaddressed.

Qualitas Inspection Service, on behalf of Genesis Housing Association, hired tbf Scaffolding to provide a protective scaffold. Known for prompt response and reliability tbf was recognised as a perfect firm for an urgent safety job like this.

The scaffold took three scaffolders around 10 days to erect. The result is simple but sturdy – and effective. If glass does fall from a window-frame, it will be safely ‘caught’ by tbf’s platform, instead of falling to the street.

At the time of writing, the scaffold has been in place for around a year.
