tbf Scaffolding starts five-year council contract

tbf Scaffolding started work for Ipswich Borough Council, kicking off a five-year maintenance contract with the local authority.

The Suffolk-based scaffolding firm won the position as exclusive scaffolding contractor for the Ipswich Borough Council (IBC) Planned Maintenance Contract for 2020-25. tbf scaffolders started work on the contract on 17 August 2020.

Maintenance works will vary widely, and will include chimney repairs, painting and decorating, fascia and soffit repairs, and brickwork repointing. All will need tbf to efficiently erect sturdy and safe scaffold to support maintenance workers.

Ipswich is a historic town, with many unique structures. Luckily, tbf has plenty of experience with listed, delicate, or otherwise tricky-to-maintain buildings. For instance, the firm erected scaffolding for Ipswich’s Old Post Office earlier this year.

Why tbf?

The scaffolding company won this contract through a tender submitted in January. Ipswich Borough Council scores tenders on quality and price. Happily, tbf came out on top.

The tender detailed tbf’s social values commitments, strong internal management system, and extensive experience. tbf Scaffolding has specific familiarity with IBC contracts: it worked on the council’s Reactive Maintenance Contract (2015-2019) and as Planned Maintenance Contractor (2013-2017). tbf has also worked for other contractors on Ipswich Borough Council jobs, such as recent installations of external wall insulation with Cornerstone and Aspiration.
